Brief History of Dr. Aung Than Oo Myanmar

Dr. AUNG THAN OO, representing Republic Union of Myanmar, from South East Asia region.

Founder of Myanmar Youth foundation for SDG; ASEAN MY world 2030_country representative, Country Director of Global PEACE CHAIN, President Youth Wings of International Anti-terrorism Movement, Young leader of Pacific forum program

He is a medical professional as well as young peace builder, policy activist. He was graduated from University of medicine 2(M.B.,B.S), passed C.P.M.A from Edinburgh university (IQN UK). He also now studies Master degree at Aldersgate collage (Public Policy and Public Management). In 2018, he became MASHAV alumni (innovation in women health program), then get some aid from Israel. From 2018 Oct, He is one of United Nation Young Peace Builders, recognized by UNOY, first implementer of UNSCR 2250 in Myanmar. He is 2018 Myanmar federalism leadership alumni, which is supported by Hansidel foundation. Now he is candidate of 2019 fellowship of KAICIID.

His working experiences; he worked at International NGO such as Malaria consortium, Population service International, 3MDG_UNOPS, and consultant for social accountability, Gender equity making and Social inclusion making. He worked in humanitarian sectors for four years and volunteering experiences for three years.  In 2017, he also participated as conflict analysis officer at Rakhine state cooperation with international expert from UNOPS making assessment. He worked at National tuberculosis program as TB mobile team leader, field supervisor at Malaria indicator survey. For gender perspective, he served as National consultant for Ending all from of violence against women (VAW), policy making process working together with National Technical working groups. He served as a panelist at UNFPA event and meeting. For youth activist perspective, he has started Myanmar Youth foundation for PEACE, implementation of UNSCR 2250.  For innovative approach, he is one of Myanmar delegate for Falling wall 2018, his innovative idea is “Combat to Poor health fund’, he got chance to participate in Berlin falling wall 100. He has another duty of country director of Global PEACE chain, International anti-terrorism movement Youth wing. He is also representative of 21 century Union PEACE conference 2018 July. He is state coordinator of National Youth policy process.

He has professional research experiences-His research paper represent at 10th10th International Conference on Public Health Among Greater Mekong Sub-region Countries Health Equity and Response of Crisis, “Community based AEI polite model in Rakhine state”. And also in 6^th Asian health literacy conference

In addition, He is also founder of Bagan Heritage Association, conservation, donation, awareness rising, and promotion of Natural sit and culture site of Myanmar. He is also Myanmar UNESCO delegate to World Heritage committee at 42 sessions Bahrain.

He achieved for appointment of Regional Representative of Mekong culture club (2018 to 2020). From 2018 Nov to from 29 May, he was selected as ASEAN My world 2030 advocate cooperation with UNDP Asia pacific regional office. In 2018, he was nominated as Global Goodwill Ambassador (humanitarian sectors). He got WHO scholarship for PMNCH for life long support. He is appointed as Country Ambassador of PEACE for Sweden stock holm 2018. He is also young innovator as well as young entrepreneurship, involved in Global entrepreneurship forum Malaysia. As Myanmar delegate, involve in Global Food security conference. He has been selected as Myanmar delegate at UN event such as DIP/NGO, UN Youth Assembly event, UNOAC, World Bank youth summit. He involved in Global Peace foundation events, Global youth summit, MUN model events as Myanmar delegate.

Finally he said that “We are young people, we need to more make innovation and new strategy, for maintenance of suitable development. Without young people, we cannot ever achieve PEACE”.
